Winter Wear: The Leather Skirt

One of the benefits about winter in the south would be our temperatures. We don't suffer terribly low in the 20-30's, despite a few cold days here and there, we generally go through a winter in the low 60's and 50's. This is beneficial for a few reasons, but a main one being that we don't have to splurge on a real winter wardrobe. We can simply re-purpose a few pieces to be cold weather ready.
In my opinion, leather is a year round material. Of course, you can sweat to death in it during the summer, but its still doable. In the winter, I have penchant for leather bottoms! They're so chic and really elevate any outfit. I like skirts, so a leather skirt is a definite staple for me. Here, I paired it with tights because it cold out, but it such an easy piece that helped build the outfit.

Mixing materials can be a little intimidating, but its worth a shot if its something you just know will look good together. The cape I wore is so soft and cozy, and somewhat contrasts against the edginess of my skirt. My hosiery does the same thing between the skirt and shoes, which is what I wanted because I love a bit of femininity.
