in the city of L.a.

Okay, I’m going to be brief so you’re not reading a novel, but if you don’t know, I recently came back from a 4-day vacation to LA! I went with my best friend to visit our other bestie and it was so much fun. I haven’t been to California in years, and this was an opportunity I was so excited to be blessed with. I’ve verbally recounted all the details to everyone basically and now it’s your turn! Read on to see what I did in Cali…

Day 1 & 2
We “hopped off the plane at LAX” around 7 and I was snapping pictures immediately! Our first stop, per my request, was Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles and y’all…GO THERE! We were overwhelmed with the menu, but went with 2 Obama Specials and a regular chicken and waffle special! A solid 9/10. Afterwards, we went around Hollywood and Melrose a bit before heading back to my friend's place for the night.
Day two started off with a hike at the infamous Runyon Canyon! It was serious work, but very rewarding to see the view we did at OUR stopping point! The canyon was soooo steep, it was a good challenge and I definitely want to go back to get to the top! We went home and got dressed for the day and went to eat at Fat Sal’s and y’all… I will be taking a trip to Austin for a Big Texas (the closest to Dallas) cause it was A M A Z I N G. Our day ended on Hollywood, walking around and seeing touristy things, such a the Walk of Fame, El Captain theater, and Hollywood Wax Museum.

Day 3 & 4
This was my favorite day and it started with brunch at The Waffle. This meal was my second favorite because we got so much food and ate outside, one of my favorite combos! We followed this with the Melrose Trading Post and then headed to Santa Monica! This was my favorite part of the whole trip. I loved the beach and the pier and really enjoyed shopping at the promenade. The Santa Monica area was beautiful and id love to do more along the PCH if (when) I get to go back. The night ended at the movies to see The Avengers: Infinity War.

Our last day was pretty chill. We went to a park and rode the swan paddleboats, which was a serious work out! I also got nipped by a duck there, but lived, lol. Afterwards, we went to The Grove and again, I enjoyed myself. Notice the trend that I have a really good time around shopping places? It was smaller than I anticipated, but the Nike store didn't disappoint and made up for it all. We rode the trolley and went to the adorable Farmer’s Market, where we shopped for souvenirs.  Our last meal was at It’s Pho and it was an experience. While I’m not a pho eater, I’m happy I tried it!

The trip was really nice and I loved seeing my best friend. I do want to go back and experience more of the state and see some iconic places I missed, but I’m still so grateful. On the flight home, I actually started to tear up a bit because God is so amazing and I’m happy He allowed me to see more of this Earth. It is my prayer that I don't stop here though!
