Little Black Casual Dress

As I’ve said last post, Fall is my favorite season. Everything about this time of year makes me happy and I especially love the clothes. While Texas doesn't allow for the sweaters to come out immediately, I find other ways to bring a change of season to my wardrobe, such as the color scheme. I naturally gravitate to solids, but during this time of year, I lean more onto the darker spectrum in order to get the fall feel without sweating from the heat.

This little black dress is such a head turner. First off, it has contrasting fabric and secondly, it is basically a fashion mullet with business in the front and party in the back. Though the front is basic rayon, the back features a sheer tulle fabric that shows the whole back. Literally the WHOLE thing. To keep things PG, I always wear a black bodysuit underneath, but its still funny to see people take a second look.

Given Texas fall has temperatures in the high 80s to mid 90’s, this dress is a perfect transitional piece. The back keeps you cool throughout the day and its easy to just slip on and go. The high-low situation also provides ample amounts of air to the legs and easily shows them off. Given the color, I don't feel too out of season and can easily throw on a jacket in order to make it feel really in season.

Despite all of these details, I find the dress rather simple, so I wanted to be bold with jewelry and this chain linked and leather Juicy Couture set was perfect! It provided some edge to the soft look the dress had. My shoes were a last minute decision that I love because the tie-up look with the tulle back of the dress gives it an easy feel that’s also somewhat dressy.
