In October, I Wore Pink

Happy Halloween Guys!

Today is one of my favorite holidays ever and I so wish this could’ve been a spooky post, but I’m happy I can use this day to shed some light on the topic of Breast Cancer. Using pink in the month of October was my way of honoring those fighting + have fought against the ugly disease, and I have honestly enjoyed it! I’ve personally had to deal with cancer in my immediate family and I know how far support can go, so I hope I could have made at least one person feel like they have someone on their side.

Before I get into the outfit featured, I want to  talk about being preventative. Looking cute is an amazing feeling, but a feeling that's even better is being healthy! It was my goal that this little series kept pink on your mind, which led you to think about why it’s everywhere during the month of October. Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers that people are diagnosed with. It is a disease that is not limited to just women, so please make sure you tell you guy friends to get checked too!

While mammograms aren’t stressed enough for women younger than 40, do know that your doctor can administer assessments during yearly exams. You can also do them at home yourself, which is also recommended in order to for any changes to be caught as soon as possible.

We had a horrid cold front in Dallas last week and it was the perfect excuse to pull out one of my favorite coats. It is the prettiest shade of powder pink and screams femininity, which is so amazing because I’m all for anything ladylike. It also reminds me of Olivia Pope as well, which is always a plus lol. I could definitely use it for a last minute Halloween costume, now that I think of it!

My coat was my designated statement piece, but my top was also an eye catcher too. I wanted a look that was different than my usual casual sense and the v cut into the neck elevated a rather simple blouse and gave it the something extra I desired. I paired it with black leather pants for both the cold weather and to contrast against the white. It worked well together and gave me a real sophisticated, girl boss outfit that I love!

Continuing with contrasting, my shoes are strappy suede pumps. It is one of my favorite cold weather fabrics and looks good against any other fabric. I found these adorable pink earrings that I just had to pair with this green ring for reasons I won’t get into *hint hint Skee Wee*! The look would have been COMPLETELY undone without a pair of giant shades, so I went to my sweet granny and borrowed these dreamy pair. I love a big shade and it totally set the outfit off!
